What we record, and why
A plain-language summary of how Avantduo handles information on this site and in the showroom. Last updated 28 October 2026.
When you visit this site
The first time you open a page, we set a first-party cookie (avd_vid) holding a random identifier. It lets us see one browser's visits as one journey. With it we record:
- the pages you read and the interactive tools you use, including your process check answers and FAQ searches;
- where each visit came from: the referring website, any campaign tags in the link, and whether the link came from an ad (which ad network only, never the click identifier);
- how long each page is actively in view, in seconds;
- roughly where you are: your country, region and city, looked up from your IP address when you visit (using DB-IP's location database, inside our own system) or, if that isn't possible, the country your browser's time zone is in;
- your browser and platform in general terms, such as “Chrome on macOS”, and whether it's a phone, tablet or computer.
We don't store your IP address: it's used for that lookup and discarded, and we don't use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
If you sign up
Getting started needs your email address, confirmed with a one-time code, and asks for your name, organisation and role. When you ask for a code, we keep the address and whether the code was sent and used for 30 days, so our team can help if it didn't get through. From then on we also record:
- when you sign in, how (code or link) and your browser and platform in general terms;
- the showroom pages you open, the guided tours you start and finish, and which records you change;
- anything you send us, such as an implementation enquiry;
- colleagues you share the showroom with: their name and address, used to send them one email and to recognise them if they sign up.
Activity recorded on your visitor cookie before you signed up is linked to your account. Your demo has its own audit log of changes, as a real system would; the summaries our team receives list the records you changed, not what you typed into them.
If you ask for the story as a PDF
We use your name, email, company and title to make out the PDF and email it to you, and keep them as a contact so we can follow up once. Visits recorded on this browser before you asked are linked to that request.
If you ask the showroom assistant
Your question, and the demo records it looks up to answer it, are sent to Anthropic to write the answer. The demo's data is fictional; don't include personal details in questions. We keep your question with your activity, and Anthropic doesn't use it to train its models.
If you choose an industry
Choosing an industry on the site is remembered in a preference cookie, so later pages show examples from it. It holds only the industry, and we record the choice with your visit.
Why we record it
- to run the site and the showroom, and keep them secure;
- to understand which parts are useful, and improve them;
- to follow up on your evaluation, for example by suggesting the part of the showroom most relevant to you. Tell us if you'd rather we didn't.
Product update emails are only sent if you opted in, and every one lets you unsubscribe.
Who sees it
Avantduo staff. Our service providers host and process it on our behalf: Railway (application hosting), Supabase (database and sign-in), Resend (email delivery) and Anthropic (the showroom assistant, when you use it). We don't sell it or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Visits, activity, sign-ins and session records: 180 days, then deleted automatically.
- Daily totals (counts only, with nothing that identifies a visitor): 25 months.
- Demo workspaces and everything in them: deleted 7 days after they start.
- Your account, lead details and enquiries: until you ask us to delete them.
Your choices
- If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we don't set the visitor cookie or record your visits before you sign in.
- You can clear the cookie at any time in your browser settings.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Use the contact form, or reply to any email we've sent you.
